The History Behind the Mission
In 2001, I founded Silent All These Years as a member created, public America Online group for persons with eating disorders to receive support.
As AOL began to fall behind in terms of technological advances available for message boards, I decided to migrate the group onto conforums in order to expand the topics covered to include issues of addiction, mental health, recovery, relaxation, etc.
Finally, AOL decided to terminate its offering of AOL groups. Leading this message board to be the only existing one.
After much consideration, I have decided to rename the group to Ending the Silence. Since the true goal of Silent All These Years was to end the silence that surrounded so many conditions that affect millions of people around the world.
I welcome you to form a part of this community and remember that the first step to healing is to break the silence you have been living in.
