Personal Rewards in Freedom From Disordered Eating
Your journey to freedom from disordered eating is not easy. Looking at the rewards you will reap can help sustain you when the going gets tough. As your emotional dependency on denial of or indulgence in food diminishes you will discover these changes in your life.
* You improve relationships. EDs put a strain on your relationships and cause others to lose their trust in you because of lying and secrecy. A repetitive cycle begins to develop between losing and gaining trust until your relationships are so strained that it is difficult to maintain a relationship. Also, anger becomes a primary emotion in relationships where trust is lost.
* You are more sensitive and attentive to yourself and others. You gain the ability to focus more on your own needs and the needs of others instead of being preoccupied by thoughts of body disatisfaction, food, and weight.
* You enjoy others more and they enjoy you. You are able to relax and enjoy time with friends and family.

* You have more time for people and activities when you use the energy you previously put into food and eating toward something else.
* You have more energy for projects you may have considered unreachable dreams.
* You are able to think more clearly.
* Emotionally you have more experiences of self confidence, peace and joy.
